James H. Bell ZP 118 James H. Bell ZP 118 James was born in Philadelphia. Jim graduated from SDSU after serving in the US Army. While at SDSU, he was initiated into Lambda Chi Alpha in 1951 and soon after became the High Alpha. James graduated from the University of Nebraska, College of Medicine (1962) and residency at Harbor-UCLA M.C. He joined Long Beach OB/GYN for 45 years. In retirement, he joined the American Legion Post 291. He is survived by his brother Don, his wife of 62 years, Nancy, their children - Greg, Gary and Sandra; and six grandchildren.


Scott Hamlin ZP 614 Scott passed away December 29, 2019. Scott joined Lambda Chi in the Spring of 1977 and was known to have a tremendous sense of humor. Scott held several offices at the chapter, worked at the famous Reuben E. Lee restaurant with many other Lambda Chi brothers. After graduation Scott moved to Sunnyvale, where he enjoyed his favorite pastime playing golf.


James Norris ZP 660 Jim passed away November 27, 2019. Jim joined Lambda Chi in the Fall of 1978 and was the High Tau and on the ritual team. Jim was most known for being one of the strongest guys in the house, winning the Greek Week Open arm wrestling championship. Jim majored in Chemistry and lived in Bakersfield for many years while working for Hidden Valley Ranch in the Tech and Applied Science dept. Jim left a son, Nicholas.


Robert “Bob” Rieden ZP 838 Robert “Bob” Rieden ZP 838 Bob became an Associate Member in the Fall of 1982 and initiated on November 21, 1982 as Zeta-Pi 838. He will be deeply missed by many. His obituary from the Orange County Register below.

It is with great sadness that the family of Robert Edward Rieden announces his passing, on Tuesday, June 11th, 2019, at the age of 57 years. Bob will be lovingly remembered by Lisa Rieden and their 3 children, Makenna, Rachel and Summer. Bob will also be fondly remembered by his mother, Pat; Bob's brother, Dan and his children Megan and Wyatt; Bob's sister, Erin and her husband Jim; Bob's sister, Shanna and her children Ashley, Taylor and Madison; Bob's brother, Matt and his wife Amy and their 2 children Bodie and Jaxon; and his brother, Cody. Bob was a devoted family man, a father, a son, a brother, an uncle, a mentor, and a friend. He will most definitely be remembered as a man with a "BIG HEART". A Memorial Service in memory of Bob will be held for family and friends on Thursday, June 20th at 4:00 p.m., at Pacific View Memorial Park & Mortuary, 3500 Pacific View Drive, Corona de Mar, CA.
